Flyer from early 80’s for the Student S.M.I^2.L.E. Society (S^3) that me and Dafydd Ab Hugh formed at UCSC. We just stood up at the Whole Earth Restaurant and asked who wanted to see Timothy Leary. We grabbed a couple of people, went over to the A-frame where student organizations were formed, created the society, and invited Leary to come to UCSC. He accepted (for $1000). We made $2000 and held a few more cool events, one with Robert Anton Wilson. Those were the days!
